Pfc. Mo Walker, who was killed in Afghanistan recently, posted the following entry on his Facebook site on Aug. 7.
"As I said earlier, the past month and a half have been really busy. I guess due to it warming up, the Taliban have been more aggressive in their activities throughout my Battalion's Area of Operation. With all the activity, they have kept all the infantry guys really busy to say the least. Constantly having to go out and confront them for them simply to retreat after brief engagements. Some of the instances have created opportunities for the guys in my squad and I to continue to be nominated for awards and other honors. Seven other guys and myself, all in my squad, were nominated for an award called ARCOM with V device. Its basically an award given to a soldier who does an outstanding job in dangerous situations. Even other commanders from other [Forward Operating Bases] have come out to recognize us and great job we have been doing so far. Its kinda cool to have colonels and sergeant majors shake ur hand and thank you for the stuff u do. Due to all the craziness and some other stuff i cant talk about, all communication going to the states had been on hold for about two and a half weeks, so thats another reason i havent had a lot of communication for a while."
